New Painting: Transience

Transience: 30" x 40" Oil on Canvas $1600.00
I think transience sums up the meaning of this exhibit. For me, the sky has always personified the fleeting nature of our experiences. Clouds have the capacity to connote every emotion and mood, which never last long, but are nonetheless powerful when they occur. Much like a portrait captures the mood of a sitter, each of these paintings describe a different emotive quality, be it anger or anguish, joy or content. Within these works is an appreciation for transient moments, and comfort in knowing that they pass.

I really love this piece - your clouds are sooo fluffy and have so much substance! Your use of color to create such a dramatic effect is wonderful! Your show will be a complete success!

I'm not usually one given to overstatement, but your work is absolutely blowing my mind.

I love JMW turner and J Constable - and your stuff is putting me in the mind of their skies

do you do workshops?

Very much appreciated Jennifer!

Wow, Gifted Typist, that means so much!
I used to offer lessons occasionally, but the truth is, I still consider myself quite an amateur painter, and wouldn't know where to begin. Maybe I should try designing one sometime and test it out!
Thanks for this compliment!!

I don't know what's more beautiful - the painting - or your words that accompany it - I could never quite understand my fascination with clouds - and then bingo - your words absolutely nailed it

Thank you so much Mark! I'm glad that the passage translates well, I wanted to summarize the meaning of this exhibit.
Cheers!

I've only just discovered your blog and I love what you do, all of it! I love your clouds, and what you say about them is so true. Good luck for your exhibition - or is it already finished? I'm sure it will be (or has been) a huge success!

Great entry and wonderful painting. Yes, what we think is permanent is only fleeting! (Ugh.)

Constance and I were talking about your paintings the other day. I stopped here awhile ago and was equally as enchanted by your cloud formations. That sky over your head in Nova Scotia must be quite an inspiration.
I think there is something that happens to the light once you get up to central Maine and beyond that is so dramatic.

Hope your show has been a complete success, Ambera.
